4x Bliss balls with adaptogens

Do you feel like something tasty that is also nutritious and gives you energy?

Bliss balls are healthy snacks made with dates, to which you can add all kinds of things such as raw cacao, coconut, nuts and seeds. To give yourself an extra boost or to help you relax, make these bliss balls with your favorite adaptogens.

The great thing about these snacks is that almost anyone can eat them: in their purest form (such as dates with cacao) they are allergen-free and vegan. Because dates are naturally sweet, you don't have to add any sweetener.

They are fast to prepare, you only have to mix the ingredients and make balls from the dough. Nice and easy, the way we like it!

Bliss balls last a long time in the refrigerator, provided you use the right ingredients.
You can make some extra so that you always have something tasty and healthy at home. Note that using fresh ingredients such as fruit(juice) will reduce the shelf life to a few days, so keep that in mind.

You can vary endlessly with bliss balls, here are 4 delicious recipes:

Bliss balls with adaptogens

Pure chocolate

10 Medjool dates

1.5 tsp raw cacao powder
1/2 tsp natural vanilla extract
1 tsp adaptogens

Gember, lemon & Brazil nuts

10 Medjool dates

1 tsp fresh lemon juice
1/2 tsp ground or fresh ginger
1 tbsp chopped Brazil nuts
1 tsp adaptogens

Coconut & rose water

10 Medjool dates
1 tbsp grated coconut
1 tbsp coconut cream
1 tsp virgin coconut oil
1 tsp rose water
1 tsp adaptogens

Peanut butter & cardamom

10 Medjool dates
2 tbsp 100% natural peanut butter
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
1 tsp adaptogens

The process for each bliss balls recipe is pretty much the same:

Mix all ingredients in a food processor into a sticky dough.
Use your hands to roll balls from the dough.
As a last step you can roll them in grated coconut, cacao powder or hemp seed.

If you use grated coconut, you can also color it naturally by adding:

pink: raspberry juice, beets or strawberries.

light blue: butterfly pea tea.

yellow: mango, turmeric.

Use a small amount of liquid so it does not get too wet, or let the grated coconut dry first, otherwise it won't stick.

Put the bliss balls in the fridge for an hour.

Adaptogens

By adding adaptogens to your food you can consciously customize it to give you what you need most at that moment.
This can be for example, more energy, calmness, focus or extra care for your skin and immune system.

An additional advantage of combining adaptogens with your food is that your body absorbs the nutrients in adaptogens much better.
This is enhanced even more when you use healthy fats such as coconut products, (plant-based) dairy, avocado, nuts or cacao butter.
Additionally, when you use the powders blended into something tasty, you will notice little or nothing of the herbal taste!
