According to Ayurveda, it is best to eat cooked, warming foods during the autumn and winter months. Raw fruit and vegetables cool down your body during these cold seasons and digesting them costs energy.
During the warm seasons, raw food is perfect as your body needs more cooling.
This warm apple compote with cinnamon, -also an Ayurvedic spice for autumn-, adaptogens for the immune system and skin and goji berries is nutritious, warming and tastes delicious.
Apple compote with cinnamon and adaptogens
How to prepare it:
Peel and cut 5-6 apples into wedges. Cover them generously with water and bring them to a boil with cinnamon and some coconut blossom sugar.
Add two teaspoons I am glowing adaptogens.
This blend consists entirely of mushrooms which need heat to be able to fully release their nutrients. Adding the mushrooms to a dish like this is an ideal way to help your body absorb everything properly.

Simmer the apples until they are soft, then turn off the heat and add the juice of half a lemon.
Serve the apple compote warm with some goji berries.
You can eat it as it is or combine it with your oatmeal or yogurt.
